Calceolaria arachnoidea sold out
A plant that gets some 'bad press' in some quarters: I just think its quite subtle ( if not quite making it the whole way to 'sublime' ). The grey-silver, hairy foliage and dusky plum-purple flowers on 8-10cm stems make for an unusual combination. The only requirement really, is protection from winter wet.

A small, twining climber - up to two or three feet - from California. Has remained evergreen in the cold greenhouse, though apparently dies back to a crown just below soil level in harsh winters. Flowers are quite large and white with a pale rose tint and central stripe.

Cardamine pachystigma 9cm...£3.00

Ceanothus arboreus 'Trewithen Blue' 1ltr...£4.00

Another treasure; compact, medium-sized shrub with small dark green leaves which can be completely hidden in May by the numerous small heads of deep purple-blue flowers.
