cn_tricarinata Calanthe tricarinata         1ltr...£16.50

Calceolaria arachnoidea          sold out

A plant that gets some 'bad press' in some quarters: I just think its quite subtle ( if not quite making it the whole way to 'sublime' ). The grey-silver, hairy foliage and dusky plum-purple flowers on 8-10cm stems make for an unusual combination. The only requirement really, is protection from winter wet.

Calceolaria darwinii          sold out

Smooth ovate green leaves form congested mounds and just above which, in April/May, sit the amazing pouched flowers in gentle yellow with spickles of red. Aphids find the foliage to their liking.

Callistemon linearis          1ltr...£3.00

Makes an airy, open shrub with narrow, rigid leaves and cylindrical spikes of scarlet flowers. Hardy but needs a sunny spot to flower well.

Calocedrus decurrens          sold out

A slow, upright growing form with scale-like flattened sprays of foliage arranged in dense fans. Appreciates a sheltered position in a rich moist soil where it will reach tree or four feet in ten years.

Calochortus venustus        9cm...£2.75

Calyptridium umbellatum          7cm...£2.50

cn_macrostegia Calystegia macrostegia s.sp cyclostegia          2ltr...£3.50

A small, twining climber - up to two or three feet - from California. Has remained evergreen in the cold greenhouse, though apparently dies back to a crown just below soil level in harsh winters. Flowers are quite large and white with a pale rose tint and central stripe.

Camellia japonica 'Illumination'        1ltr...£4.75

Cardamine pachystigma          9cm...£3.00

For a semi-shaded position, this charming dwarf species forms small knobbly rhizomes, which gently increase when happy, and from which arise the pale, shallow-lobed leaves and racemes of good-sized, white flowers.

Cardiocrinum yunnanense        2ltr...£6.50

Lovely small-growing clumps of very orange-bronze grass. Very pretty.

tn_frosted Carex 'Frosted Curls'          1ltr...£2.25

Quite vigorous in comparison to others of its clan, making a flat spreading small shrub with few small leaves, widely spread, and numerous delicate off-white flowers with magenta markings. Hardy.

 Carex conica 'Kiku-satura'          9cm...£2.50

Slightly glossy, narrow, pointed grey-green leaves with a striking white variegation. Small, dense grassy hummock-forming and spires of wispy 'flowers'.

cn_trewithen Ceanothus arboreus 'Trewithen Blue'         1ltr...£4.00
