WELCOME TO AD HOC PLANTS

EUPHORBIA Euphorbiaceae
Euphorbia baselicis 2 ltr ... £3.00
Recently introduced from an Eastern European Botanic Garden, forms a twelve-inch mound of radiating stems of distinctly blue-grey foliage which terminate in heads of greeny-yellow flowers; an attractive mix, enhanced as the flowers take on a red tinge as they age.
Euphorbia ceratocarpa 2 ltr ... £3.00
Nearly everything about this plant is lime-green ( apart from the red tinge to the stems ). In Spring it's like an acid-yellow beacon and if cut back following this, will normally flower again come August. In the meantime grow tropaoeleum, aconitum, adlumia, etc to clamber over it.
Euphorbia characias 2ltr...£3.00
Euphornia characias 'Burrow Silver' 1ltr...£3.50
Euphorbia characias s.sp wulfenii 2ltr...£3.25
A striking specimen plant with pink-tinged stems and grey-blue leaves arranged in whorls. Giant heads of yellow flowers with distinct red-brown eyes are produced freely in March/April.
Euphorbia characias s.sp wulfenii 'John Tomlinson' 2ltr...£3.25
Large corymbs of acid-yellow flowers over glaucous blue foliage.
Euphorbia characias s.sp wulfenii 'Lambrook Gold' 2 ltr ... £3.25
Selected for its glorious golden heads of flower which adorn the tops of the stems of pale blue-green like like some ridiculously exhuberant golde tinsel thrown over a Christmas tree.
Euphorbia coralloides 2ltr...£2.75
Euphorbia 'Excalibur' 1ltr...£3.25
Euphorbia mellifera 2 ltr ... £4.00
With a modicum of shelter, this can make a sizeable shrub - three feet by four in ten years. Bright green lance-shaped leaves with pale central midrib, clothe pale sienna stems and atop these sit flattened corymbs of creamy-brown flowers with a delicious honey scent.
Euphorbia stricta 1 ltr ... £2.25
( syn. E.'Golden Foam' ) Makes a low-growing carpet of lime-green and yellow - plant it near something red ( one of the red-leaved Berberis is ideal ) and stand back...
Euphorbia wallichii 2 ltr ... £4.50
Dark green, purple-edged leaves with a central creamy-white vein and large heads of jade-green flowers in early summer. A dramatic plant hailing from the Himalayas.
