An unusual species forming a large, often elongated, variably shaped 'daisy' flower, deep yellow in colour and sitting absolutely sessile amongst a surrounding rosette of pale green, slightly ribbed leaves. Has a tendency to be monocarpic but on occasion can form a multi-crowned, long(er)-lived plant. Sunny scree.
