      LITHODORA                                                                            Boraginaceae

ln_diffusa Lithodora diffusa 'Compacta'          7cm...£2.50

A less rambling, more compact selection forming a deep green mat-come-mound of oblong, undulate leaves and numerous small, bright blue trumpets. Easy and trouble free.

ln_star Lithodora diffusa 'Star'          1ltr...£2.50

Ideal for scrambling through or over its neighbours ( I have it adorning the conifer, Diselma archeri ) where its green stems are studded with eye-catching blue flowers with a distinctive central white mark. Can be kept more compact, if one prefers,by pinching back as appropriate.

ln_hispidula Lithodora hispidula         1ltr...£2.75

A compact, small erect shrublet clothed in hairy dark green leaves and, in Summer, tubular flowers of pale lilac-blue. A refined member of the genus.

ln_lithodara Lithodora oleifolia          sold out

A pleasing, compact growing small shrub from the Pyrenees. Short stems clad in slightly hairy, blue-green leaves and clusters of opalescent blue flowers.

ln_rosmariniifolia.jpg Lithodora rosmarinifolia          9cm...£2.50

Needs a sheltered position to come through a harsh Winter outside; but worth the effort, or a pot in a cold greenhouse, for the compact growth and bright blue flowering display in late Spring. Makes a small foot-high shrub and remains compact.

Lithodora zahnii          9cm...£2.50

Forms a compact mounded dome of dark-green leaves through which emerge the pale blue flowers. A lime-lover from Greece which I have had more success with since planting out in the sunny rock garden rather than attempting to grow in a pot.
